THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
The current development proposals have regard to the technical work that has informed our understanding of the site and its surrounding area, along with its role within the wider Wychavon Town settlement and Abbotswood Ridge neighbourhood, and the delivery of the Stoulton relief road (also referred to as the Stoulton Bypass).
The development would be responsive to its surroundings and set within a comprehensive network of ecological and wildlife corridors.
Connectivity through the site, and to the local centre and surrounding area, would be emphasised to encourage sustainable travel.

OUR VISION FOR THE SITE

STOULTON RELIEF ROAD (THE STOULTON BYPASS)
The Stoulton relief road is a proposed new link road that will connect the B4084 to the south of Stoulton. The relief road will ensure that the wider Wychavon Town development does not have an adverse impact on traffic movement through the village of Stoulton.
The delivery of the relief road will be enabled by the release of land for residential development within the southern neighbourhood, delivered simultaneously to fund its construction.
The Wain Estates proposals include the delivery of a secondary access road to the southern part of the Abbotswood Ridge Neighbourhood. This will be required to facilitate delivery of the quantum of new houses proposed, and to meet County Highways technical requirements.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT
In September 2024, Wain Estates sought the Council’s Scoping Opinion for the site and submitted a Scoping Report for ‘Land At (OS 8952 4900), Abbotswood Road’, Worcestershire Parkway (Reference: W/24/01758/SCO). This was to establish the scope and level of detail required for the Environmental Statement.
The Council set out its initial views and concluded that an Environmental Statement could proceed on the basis proposed, provided it recognises the interrelationships between different impacts, responds to the comments made by the Council and consultees, and remains open to supplying further information if required.
An Environmental Statement will now be prepared and submitted alongside the planning application.
